According to official sources from China Tower, several suppliers have recently been punished by China Tower for unqualified products.
Antenna sampling inspections have been implemented, and the overall test result is acceptable. The overall qualified rate is 98.6%, most of the samples from suppliers are qualified.
There is also unqualified case: 27 samples of antenna from Mobi Antenna Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. were collected and tested . But 3 of the 27 samples failed the test. The unqualified test item is third-order intermodulation.
In accordance with the procurement framework agreement signed between China Tower and the suppliers, Mobi Antenna Technology Co., Ltd. and some other suppliers were fined, and need to replace the products, and pay for the test and inspection fee.
According to BASTA V11 specifications and technical specifications of top operators, high-quality antennas have the following characteristics:
1. Multi-band, multi-RAT, multi-port capability: for example, 900+1800+2100+2600 MHz FDD dual-beam, and 900+1800+2100+2300+2600 MHz FDD+TDD hybrid
2. Superior antenna gain: The 65-degree beam width antenna gain should be greater than 18.5 dBi, and the 33-degree beam width antenna gain should be greater than 20.5 dBi.
3. Smaller Size: For smaller wind resistance of the tower and easier maintenance.
4. Flexible maintenance mode: supports RET and positioning，provides two pairs of RET ports to ensure RET reliability.
To secure operation and improve end user experience, the related enterprises in Cambodia had better to learn from China Tower’s case.
