នៅពេលចុងឆ្នាំនេះខិតជិតមកដល់ ហើយឆ្នាំថ្មីក៏ជិតចូលមកដល់ វាគឺជាពេលវេលាសម្រាប់ការគិត និងដំណោះស្រាយដែលមិនអាចចៀសបានរបស់យើង។ ខាងក្រោមនេះគឺជារឿងចាស់មួយដែលខ្ញុំបានអានមួយរយៈមុន។ ខ្ញុំជឿថា រឿងនេះមានសារ:សំខាន់ណាស់ ដែលទាក់ទងនឹងរបៀបដែលយើងកំណត់អាទិភាពក្នុងជីវិតរបស់យើង។
រឿងនេះទាក់ទងទៅនឹងសាស្ត្រាចារ្យទស្សនវិជ្ជាម្នាក់ដែលកើតឡើងនៅក្នុងថ្នាក់របស់គាត់ ហើយបានរើសក្រឡទទេមួយ និងបានដាក់ដុំថ្មធំៗក្នុងក្រឡនោះ។ គាត់បានសួរសិស្សរបស់គាត់ថា តើក្រឡនេះពេញហើយឬនៅ? សិស្សទាំងអស់បានយល់ស្របថាវាពិតជាពេញដោយដុំថ្ម។
សាស្ត្រាចារ្យនោះបានយកប្រអប់ក្រួសតូចៗមួយមកចាក់ចូលក្នុងក្រឡបន្ថែម។ គាត់អង្រួនក្រឡស្រាលៗ ហើយក្រួសតូចៗបានរមៀលចូលទៅក្នុងតំបន់ចំហរវាងដុំថ្ម។ គាត់សួរម្ដងទៀតថាតើក្រឡពេញឬនៅ? សិស្សទាំងអស់ក៏បានយល់ស្របថាវាពិតជាពេញ។ សាស្ត្រាចារ្យបានយកខ្សាច់មួយប្រអប់មកចាក់ចូល ហើយខ្សាច់ក៏ពេញទៅលើអ្វីៗផ្សេងទៀតក្នុងក្រឡដដែលនោះ។ គាត់សួរម្ដងទៀតថាតើក្រឡពេញឬនៅ? សិស្សឆ្លើយជាឯកច្ឆន្ទថា វាពិតជាពេញដោយដុំថ្ម គ្រួស និងខ្សាច់។
សាស្រ្តាចារ្យបានពន្យល់ថា ៖ «ឥឡូវនេះ ខ្ញុំចង់ឱ្យអ្នកទទួលស្គាល់ថាក្រឡនេះគឺជាជីវិតរបស់អ្នក។ ដុំថ្មធំៗគឺជាវត្ថុសំខាន់ដែលរួមមាន គ្រួសារអ្នក សុខភាពរបស់អ្នក កូនៗរបស់អ្នក។ អ្វីដែលសំខាន់សម្រាប់អ្នក បើវាបាត់បង់ អ្វីៗនឹងមិនមានន័យសម្រាប់អ្នក។»
ក្រួសតូចៗជាវត្ថុផ្សេងទៀតក្នុងជីវិតដែលសំខាន់ ប៉ុន្តែក្នុងទំហំតូចជាង។ ក្រួសតំណាងឱ្យវត្ថុផ្សេងៗដូចជា ការងារ ផ្ទះរបស់អ្នក ឡានរបស់អ្នក។
ខ្សាច់គឺជាអ្វីៗផ្សេង ដែលមានលក្ខណៈតូចតាច។ បើអ្នកដាក់ខ្សាច់ ឬក្រួសចូលក្នុងក្រឡមុននោះ អ្នកនឹងគ្មានកន្លែងសម្រាប់ដុំថ្មធំឡើយ។
ដូចគ្នាដែរ សម្រាប់ជីវិតរបស់អ្នក ប្រសិនបើអ្នកចំណាយថាមពល និងពេលវេលាទាំងអស់របស់អ្នកលើរឿងតូចៗ របស់របរប្រើប្រាស់ នោះអ្នកនឹងមិនមានកន្លែងសម្រាប់អ្វីដែលសំខាន់ពិតប្រាកដនោះទេ។ សូមយកចិត្តទុកដាក់លើរឿងដែលសំខាន់ក្នុងជីវិតរបស់អ្នក។ ចំណាយពេលជាមួយកូនៗរបស់អ្នក។ នាំដៃគូរបស់អ្នកដើរកម្សាន្តឱ្យបានច្រើន។ ណាត់ជួបអ្នកចាស់ទុំក្នុងគ្រួសាររបស់អ្នក។ បង្កើតអនុស្សាវរីយ៍យូរអង្វែងជាមួយពួកគេ។ យើងតែងតែមានពេលសម្រាប់ការងារ និងកិច្ចការផ្សេងៗ។ សូមថែរក្សាដុំថ្មជាមុនសិន គឺជាអ្វីដែលសំខាន់។ កំណត់អាទិភាពរបស់អ្នក៖ វត្ថុផ្សេងទៀតគឺគ្រាន់តែជាក្រួសតូចៗ និងខ្សាច់តែប៉ុណ្ណោះ។
មេរៀនទាំងនេះតំណាងឱ្យអ្វីដែលយើងអាចរវល់ពេក ហើយមិនបានយកចិត្តទុកដាក់ក្នុងការកត់សម្គាល់ ឬផ្តល់អាទិភាព។ វាជាពេលល្អដើម្បីចំណាយពេលសញ្ជឹងគិតមួយភ្លែតទាំងអស់គ្នា។ សូមអរគុណដល់អ្នកនិពន្ធរឿងដ៏មានន័យនេះ។
Rock, Pebbles and Sand!
As the end of this year approaches and the new year is just around the corner, it is the time for thought and our inevitable resolutions. What follows is an old story which I read a while ago. I believe it holds a very important message regarding on how we set priorities in our lives.
A philosophy professor stood before his class and picked up a large, empty mayonnaise jar which he proceeded to fill with rocks. He asked his students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly and the pebbles rolled into open areas between the rocks. He asked again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor picked up a box of sand and poured it in and the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous YES.
“Now,” said the professor, “I want you to recognize that this is your life. The rocks are the important things – your family, your health, your children – anything that is so important to you that if it were lost, you would be destroyed.”
The pebbles are the other things in life that matter, but on a smaller scale. The pebbles represent material things like your job, your house, your car.
The sand is everything else. The small stuff. If you put the sand or the pebbles into the jar first, there is no room for the rocks.
The same goes for your life. If you spend all your energy and time on the small stuff, material things, you will never have room for the things that are truly important. Pay attention to the things that are critical in your life. Spend time with your children. Take your partner out dancing. Visit the elders in your family. Create lasting memories with them. There will always be time for work and other mundane chores. Take care of the rocks first – the things that really matter. Set your priorities: The rest are just pebbles and sand.
These lessons represent the things we may be too busy and neglect to notice or prioritize. It is a good time to take a moment to ponder. Credit to the writer of this amazing story.
