Ministry of Agriculture Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Green Cambodia (CG) and Global Fund for Nature Conservation (WWF)

Phnom Penh: Mr. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, in the morning of October 30, 2024, presided over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and its partners. At the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

During the ceremony, the Minister welcomed and supported the partners of national and international organizations and the private sector to join forces to promote Cambodia’s agricultural sector and successfully implement natural resource conservation.

On this occasion, the Minister was present at the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries with two partners, Green Cambodia (CG) and the Global Fund for Nature Conservation (WWF).

According to the Minister, the signing of the MoU with the Cambodian Green Company is an important task in helping to stabilize the price of rice in the northwest, a new context to reduce costs to increase profits for both farmers and consumers.

At the same time, the Minister mentioned the modern agricultural community that uses clear varieties and techniques, has the capital to invest, has a real market and promotes the fragrant rice, which is a Cambodian rice variety to have more potential to export to international markets.

In relation to the conservation of natural resources, the Minister is pleased with the steady increase in the number of dolphins, which is a Cambodian treasure. The period of effective patrols and crime suppression is a great achievement for the Ministry of Agriculture.

In addition, the Minister praised the joint efforts of partner organizations and sub-national authorities, especially the people living there to raise awareness of the conservation of natural resources.

In this work, the Minister emphasized that the Ministry of Agriculture needs partners who have clear common goals, real techniques and are willing to work together to achieve good results.

Taking this opportunity, the Minister encouraged the implementation of the MoU to be proactive, have practical results, solve challenges together and have mutual success.
