Letter to Editor: We humbly urge all leaders to look beyond political considerations…
To:
President of the United States
President of the People’s Republic of China
President of the Russian Federation
President of the French Republic
Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
And All World Leaders
Your Excellencies,
We respectfully address you with a profound humanitarian concern and an urgent appeal for peace.
The ongoing violence affecting Cambodian border communities has resulted in severe human suffering, particularly among innocent civilians, including women and children. These events have created fear, displacement, and loss of life—outcomes that contradict the shared principles of humanity, peace, and international responsibility.
We humbly urge all leaders to look beyond political considerations and national self-interests, and to focus on the immediate human cost of this conflict. The Cambodian people desire peace, stability, and the right to live without fear. They do not seek war, nor prolonged confrontation.
The international community possesses the diplomatic, political, and moral capacity to prevent further escalation and to protect civilian lives. We respectfully call for timely, concrete, and collective action—beyond expressions of concern—to halt violence, ensure the protection of civilians, and support a peaceful resolution.
History will reflect the actions taken in moments such as this. We trust that global leadership will rise to its highest responsibility in defense of humanity and peace.
Thank you for your attention and commitment to the preservation of human life and dignity.
Respectfully,
Alexander R. Chhin
On behalf of the Cambodian people seeking peace
